    Motion car

Prayers are with the folks that got caught in the storm. We left about 3 PM and the sky looked pretty clear. Had no idea until reading the board a few minutes ago that anything happened. I was wondering if anyone could comment on the 70 coupe Baldwin Motion clone that was in the covered pavillion. I'm not normally excited about clones, but that one did get my attention. At $61,500 I thought it quite steep, but would like to get an opinion or two on what you guys think it's worth. Don't know if it sold or not and didn't get the owner's
number, so I guess I lose anyway, but still am very interested in it. Thanks

    Re: Motion car

I dunno if it sustained any damage from the storm, but I don't remember seeing ANYTHING on the car that said it was a clone. In fact, it stated that it had the original Baldwin/Motion paint on it from 1970.

    What gives???

      Re: Motion car

It was written on the description sheet that was on the dash that it was not an original Motion Car. All the correct Motion parts were there, but Motion did not build the car. It was, however, a very nice car.

First stop at that paviloin. Kind of sucked me in when I saw that rear paint scheme from a distance. Very nice. Didn't know there a LT1 variety in 70? Thought the repop interior could have been better.........

I walked through there Friday night after dark, but under the lights, and I must have missed that detail! LOL
It was, really, a nice looking car though.

            Re: Motion car

the dealer built cars, while unique to some, are to me a factory built car that has been modified and warrant no special attention,as there are several well qualified induviduals out there that could have done the same job/work and turned out a better product---long story short---if you were, as a private induvidual back then and bought a ??? from gm and modified it, you did what every other young hot blooded american did to his/her auto---are their cars worth more or deserve some special recognition ? NO ---JMHO

Looks like my image host has a problem. Here's another image.
