Has anyone used the "car capsule" to store the vette over the winter months. Just wondering if there would be any problems? Thanks.

Kirk
I used to keep my 63 ZO-6 in one that blew up like a clear ballon and had a small electric motor. I liked it but it was a pain in the butt evertime I wanted to get the car out. As matter of fact I think it's still in the barn someplace. The cover that is, not the ZO-6.

I've been looking at those things for ten years and still can't figure out how blowing ambient air at a car will stop it from rusting.- Top

But it's in a bag and cost lots of money. It has to work!
The one thing I did like was the picture of them hitting the capsule with a large hammer and it just bouncing back. Seems like it might keep an accidental ding from occuring. I suppose if you placed some drier packs in the capsule it might help with moisture. I know the fan has a filter for dirt, but as far as I know there isn't a "dehumidifier" attached in series!!!
I know if I used it, it would be for long-term winter storage. I drive my car too much otherwise for it to be convenient to deflate and unzipper it every time I take it out.- Top

I have a friend who has a LOT of cars and a 60 X 125 metal storage building with NO heating or cooling. He's got 3 of his cars in the Car Capsules. Like somebody else said, I don't see why blowing room air over a car keeps it from mildewing............... but it does, at least in this case. When there's a sudden change in weather, frequently some of the other cars in the building will sweat to the point that you can write on them with your finger, but the ones in the bubbles remain dry.
As far as my own environment, my stuff gets REAL dusty, because I don't have the room to completely segregate projects from finished stuff. I'm going to get several of the bubbles just for keeping em cleaner on cars I don't drive as much, but the downside is they're kind of a pain to get in and out.
Another one I've seen that I really like is the Copperstar Products one, (they've got a website) which is free standing and doesn't collapse when the air is turned off or the zipper is opened. The only downside is that they cost about double the bubble.
Bottom line of the bubbles is, they're great for storage, but I think a little hard to get in and out of, especially in areas where you can't drive straight in, like my building where you have to make a turn.- Top
