Passing of Walt Kopola

It is with great sadness that I report that Walt Kapola, 2007 receipent of the NCRS President's Award, passed away about noon today. Walt had fought a long and hard battle with brain cancer. Please remember he and his wife Lisa in your prayers.

Rats, that's bad news. Walt was a great guy -- cancer is awful. God bless Walt. All my best to Lisa.

Had so much fun judging mechanical...

...with Walt. We just made it fun, no matter what. I remember saying to him, "Hey, you can only judge stuff on your side of the air cleaner stud..."
I guess we both got input on that part of the engine. Great NCRS member, will miss him & remember him. Dennis

One of the best times John and I have ever had was with Walt and Lisa in 1997 on Walt's National road tour to Lake Placid. He opened his home to us and took great care of us. What a kind and giving member NCRS has lost. One of the best! Walt was a blast!

I'm sorry to hear of anyone's passing. I didn't know Walt, but I'm sure he fought hard against his cancer. May Lisa have comfort in knowing there are lots of us who will keep her in our prayers. As those did for me, I shall return the favor.
