I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD HELP ME, OR AT LEAST STEER ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I HAVE A 1972 CORVETTE SMALL BLOCK WHICH ORIGINALLY HAD AIR. I NEED TO REPLACE THE MOUNTING BRACKETS AND DON'T KNOW THE PART NUMBERS. I SEE A LOT FOR SALE ON THE INTERNET BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH BRACKETS ARE INTERCHANGABLE. MOST CHEVY'S IN THIS PERIOD WERE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND CORVETTES WERE ON THE PASSENGER...CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE PART OR CASTING NUMBERS ANTWHERE...ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU, DON IRESON

Re: 1972 A/C BRACKETS
Part numbers are clearly called out in the Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) for your car AND any Chevy dealer should be able to give you same info. If memory serves, the brackets for SB are still available through Chevy + most major Corvette parts catalog houses stock them. If you have a BB, be prepared to BEND OVER because the main mounting bracket appears to be unavailable from Chevy and prices are bidding up smartly!
There are several brackets as well as a heater hose clamp (this is NOW avail as a reproduction part) and the 'mix' of what's needed depends on SB vs. BB configuration of your engine compartment. Hence, having an AIM is a nice starting point because it not only calls out the individual pieces by P/N, but it shows you how the system was assembled to boot!- Top

Re: 1972 A/C BRACKETS
Don, Get yourself a CORVETTE TRADER magazine at the 7-11 and call all those aftermarket corvette parts venders for their catalogs. Many companys sell all the vette parts you will need, with drawings etc. that will help you. The best is what Duke says, get the 72 AIM ( get from the NCRS bookstore on the website)
