I am looking at a Frigidaire A/C compressor, model# 6550133. Is this the right one for a 1965? It also has a code# 022551 marking, I have no idea what this means. Any thoughts?

A/C compressor date code
I don't know what the model number means, but the code 022551 = 02 February, 25 25th day, 5 is the last number of the year depending on what the model number comes out to it could be 1965, 1975, or 1985, and the number 1 is either the shift or the assembly line.
In the C3 era the required model numbers are in the TIM&JG (Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide), but I can't speak for 1965.

Joseph - Terry has provided the info on the CODE #. The MODEL 6550133 is the compressor assembly used on 65 Corvettes (see 65 Corvette AIM, UPC C60, SHEET C1) except for the L76 engine Corvettes equipped with C60. The MODEL 6550133 compressor was also used on a number of other Chevrolet Division passenger cars. So if your Corvette doesn't have the L76 engine and it was built in March or later in 1965, it would be an appropriate compressor. Have fun. PeteComment
