C2 Carpet Installation

Hi guys. A quick question on carpet installation. The AIM states that the front edge of the carpet tucks under the dash mat. My dimmer switch wire harness is on top of the dash matt, and then the carpet would be installed over the wire harness. So how can the front edge of the carpet tuck under the dash mat when the dimmer switch wire harness is in the way?

On a 67 the dimmer switch wiring runs behind the firewall insulation (not visible) and the carpet tucks under the insulation edge.

To install the wiring correctly just disconnect at the switch and tuck it thru the access hole in the insulation and then reconnect

Thanks Steve. Mine must have been improperly installed at some point in the past. That makes more sense.
