There is a small semi - oval cutout in the center console area just in front of the storage area. It has a cover on it but I can't seem to figure out if the cover comes off or what the function of it is. Anyone know???

The cover is only cosmetic. It is the area where the F55 magnetic real time select ride dial goes on a standard Corvette. ( When equipped. ) Serves no purpose on your Z06. Just a cover up for the switch that isn't there.Tom Hendricks

I was tempted to pry it off to see if I could plug my cell phone into a plug under it. Would have been a good idea.Comment

Randy, A friend of mine said to avoid charging your cell phone in the car as it fries the batteries. He said if you must do so only leave it plugged in for a few minutes. Recommended using the AC current in the house. My friend is in the cell phone business and works for a big name company. JohnComment
