Anyone making correct T3 headlights? Bought a used set and they are already burning out on me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

There's only one primary supplier (Lectric Limited), and Wagner Electric manufactures them for LL; that's the best (and only one) you're going to get. It's only a 3-point standard deduction for a full set, and you can even drive the car at night and see where you're going.- Top

Re: Correct 67 repro T3 Headlight
Kirk, If ever there was a gamble going thru ops or PV it's using the original T3's. Besides that they are dim as John said. But the purists like me use them for show only. My 63 has a nice set of originals. Some NOS and one used. The used low beam had a touch of blueblack on top and it got a one point ding for condition. The judging is extremely fair for the repro bulbs in the interst of safety. If I were driving my show car I would use them or not drive the car at night. I was at a show last fall and the Corvette across from me was getting his ops done and when he turned his lites on one his bulbs smoked big time. Guys thought it was funny but I felt bad for the car owner as I know he took a big hit. John D.- Top

Re: Correct 67 repro T3 Headlight
I was at our Southeast Chapter meet in Jacksonville, Alabama yesterday, and we discussed T-3's. One reason why they burn out is air infiltation. Try putting some clear silicon on the edge of the light where the halves seal and see if that stops the burn out problem. I'm going to try it myself.- Top

Re: Correct 67 repro T3 Headlight
Stephen, I recall reading your tip on the DB here awhile back.Don't remember who said it though. I think we were told to put it around the contacts also. I should have listened and done it myself recently as I installed a NOS low beam on my 63 to replace one that was blackened just a tad. Thanks, John D- Top
