It should be called out in your copy of the AIM as Delco Remy 199531. A very common Chevy part at the scrap yards, Craig.

Note the new banner on this web site asking us NOT to treat the DB as eBay with part solicitation(s)....

        Here's what to look for

Part # 1995131 lists for '64-65 Corvette and '65 Chev passenger. Note the "131" stamped in the bottom. On a Corvette you can easily see this by sticking your head under the dash with a flashlight. Also notice the form of the white ceramic on the top. I believe the "131" is the only one with this off-set "jog"; all the replacements have a much thicker section on the right side.

They rarely pop up on eBay, which is where I got these 2 NOS examples --- Good luck.

Note sure why you need a new one, however they do come apart, can be cleaned and returned to service. Just be careful when taking apart not loose anything.

              Alan,

There is no repair to my original one. I played tug of war with the headlight knob trying to get it out. Yes I have removed these many times before. Unfortunately for me I had two nearly identical knobs and the one I picked up was about 3/4" longer than the other and it was stuck. It took a bit of pulling and eventually it came out. Unfortunately, I broke the slider inside. I have already purchased a auto store repo while I search for an original one.

              Thanks,

              Craig
