    Re: Nope Chuck

Us transplants from the great state of Maine love our Red Sox, Bruins, and Celtics about as much as them theya labstas and steamas!

With all the a_ _ kissing I do in this New York State of confusion, they let me have my way without too much brow beating.

The lips DO get tired some times though.

If you're going on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you better be OUT of the hotel and WELL on your way by 5AM, because at 8AM you're going to do nothing but sit in traffic and wait to get in. Bring water, water, and more water, and food as well, 'cuz a hamburger there costs nearly as much as a set of original finned brake drums(With the elephant ears), and from 11 to 2 pm you're gonna wait in line with a bag of recently bought parts among a ton of people who are doing the same thing. Try putting ketchup on your burger whilst having a bag over your shoulder with a water pump, alternator and various ignition shielding pieces contained within, and THEN find a seat at the picnic tables ......get the idea?

First time I went there, I spent 4 SOLID days in the swap meet chasing a long winded man of The Lord around looking for '62 parts. I didn't even get out to see the cars. Didn't miss them, either. And I agree....I'm sick of seeing nothing but "Collector Edition" cars taking up all the good parking. The rare "Collector" cars aren't as rare as one thinks when you see 100 of them side by side at Carlisle.

Bloomington is for those who want to show their cars. Carlisle is for those who want to show their cars and get parts for them, and meet some wonderful people in the process. Just be wary of men of The Cloth selling '62 parts.....Heh heh heh!

What is the deal with staying at Carlisle Barracks? Do you have to be retired military or just a vet? I am a disabled vet does that count?Tom

And always have a "Big Smokey" or two while you are there. A memorable experience in more ways than one
