C2 66 Rear Tire holder rivets - What length?

The ones from Paragon seemed a bit short. These are aluminum flat head rivets. Holds the "A Brace" to the fiberglass tire holder.

By the way, if you buy the repro. fiberglass... I drilled a drain hole in the front, to match my broken but original part.

Don't know if this hole came "factory". But if it was, add it when you drill for these rivets.

A good rule of thumb is to double the diameter to get the length you want sticking out.

I've always use the good Doctor's rivets in the long size -- just cut 'em down. They're also nice and soft. Easier to set.

If you haven't already done so, check out eBay for rivet sets. There's a bazillion of them, they're cheap, and they'll fit your air chisel. Much easier than grinding your own!

Just cut the rivet so about 3/8" protrudes through the brace, and then set the rivet. St. Louis got them in many different lengths by part number depending on the application so they didn't have to trim them, but the replacements need to be trimmed to length before setting them. The Paragon rivets are soft just like the Doc's.
