I recently purchased a '05 Vette with lowering bolts and had trouble scraping dips, etc. I had Chevy garage raise the bolts but they raised the body only 1/2 inch - a waste of money. The body height measured in front of each wheel is now 6". Is that correct measurement? What height is correct? Thanks. Bob Burk, Banning, CA

Re: C-6 lowering bolts
Hi Bob, This website and NCRS is primarily about older Corvettes. I think we're judging up through late C4s by now. In spite of that, many of us have C6s, and we'll help you if we can. You might also check the C6 General or C6 Tech forums over on CorvetteForum.com...results may vary.
Trim height varies according to the suspension. Since you didn't say which suspension you have, I assume you have the FE1 base suspension.
I checked my service manuals, and specs are given for trim height. The numbers ("Z" heignt) generally deal with measuring the declination of the rear control arms, and are not really helpful unless you have special tools used to take the measurements. The specified service "Z" height for the FE1 suspension is 1.81"...the "Z" height is defined as the vertical distance between the lowest point on the lower control arm ball joint to the center of the front side lower control arm mounting bolt. Yeah...see what I mean?
For what it's worth, I measured my 2006 Z51 (FE3) for you. In the front, behind the front wheel, the rocker panel bottom surface is 5 1/4" above the street, and in the rear in front of the rear wheel, it's 6 1/4" above the street.
From what I hear, the rear trim height varies all over the place from the factory. The front spoiler is low to the ground, and is designed to take abuse. Don't be surprised at more contact noise than you're accustomed...think of it as a training device; the noise helps you avoid future "depressions".- Top

Re: C-6 lowering bolts
Did they run the bolts all the way down. I am the one that designed the pad that it seems everyone is trying to copy lately. It is made for me by Energy Suspension and it uses the stock bolts or the ones I had made. However even though they will lower the car, they will also allow full ride height to be restored. I am thinking they did not run the bolts far enough down or whoevers bolts they are there too short.
Thanks
