    1965 350 HP air cleaner

65 350 HP. My new reproduction air cleaner has a nipple in the rear of the base. I assume, it is used for a vacuum hose but for what hose? What did the factory do with it if not needed? Thanks DG

Dick: Did you ever wonder where hot air that goes to the choke comes from?
A rubber line connects this nipple to the metal tube running behind your passenger exhaust manifold, which connects to the lower end of the hot air tube inside the manifold. The upper metal line feeding your carburetor choke housing is inserted in the top port on the manifold.

All this assumes you have the correct Holley 2818 with a hot air choke.
If you're running a manual or electric choke, just cap off the air cleaner fitting and forget about it.
