Ed Sparkman at the NICB did not call me back before Christmas as he said he would, nor has he returned my January phone call. I can only assume that he has been unable to establish a program within the NICB to release the initial St. Louis Plant shipping destinations to current Corvette owners.
Last week I sent Ed's mailing address and phone number to Vinnie Peters. I asked Vinnie to write the NICB on behalf of the NCRS and request a meeting. I think the next step should be a face-to-face discussion with the NICB (or their GM contact) about how the St. Louis shipping records might be made available to the public. I can't imagine why GM or the NICB would have any serious objection to doing this. They probably just don't want to bother with it. They may feel more enthusiastic about it after a delegation from the NCRS politely explains the importance of locating a Corvette's initial selling location.
I haven't heard back from Vinnie since my e-mail last week, but he has said in the past that he will follow up on this as an NCRS officer.
