T10 IDENTIFICATION

I JUST BOUGHT A BW T10 WITH THE FOLLOWING CASTING INFORMATION:
Tailshaft,marked T10 7D, 7-18-03
Main Case marked, T10D1,Characters in circles D, 24, 63
Side cover date 7-15-63
Stamped on spacer WJ43 2, does this translate as Warner gear Oct 1963, SHIFT 2?
Was it used in Corvettes and/or passenger cars?

Sept.'63 Not orig Chevy anything

Assembly date should be on rear of case, not inter bearing retainer. Assy date is Sept 4 '63, long after ANY T-10s were installed in ANY Chevy. Save the case. Throw everything else away.

The assembly date is on the upper rear drivers side of the main case. My error.

In that "case", the trans must have been a service replacement. Only the case CAST date would fall into an actual assembly plant production time frame for any Chevy. Perhaps BOP or Studebaker used T-10s later in production???

I've seen BOP and Studebaker examples, but all with cast iron cases. Trans would qualify as service replacement for Chevy. Way past time when Corvette went to Muncie in '63.
