    Cragar S/S Wheels for C2

We have all seen Vettes with Cragar S/S wheels right?

I have Weld Drag Lites on my '63 Vette and I want to put some Cragar S/S wheels on it. The problem I am having is I am trying to match what I have on the car now and I can't seem to do it.

I have a 7 on the front with 3.250" backspace, and,
I have a 8 on the back with 3.375" backspace

Summit Racing called Cragar and the minimum backspace they can do is 3.875" for the 7" and 4" for the 8". The one measurement that is critical is the rear one. I don't have any room to go any closer to my mono-leaf then it is at this point. If I use a .50" spacer, it will make the 8" wheel have 3.50" backspace and that should be fine.

Is this the way people get the Cragars to fit? I want to order these things soon because my front tires are bad. Thanks for your help.

Maybe your custom spring is the problem. As I recall, Corvette 8" wheels had 4" backspace and no clearance problems on spring.

      Hmmm...

Last time I went through the Summit listings, it was possible to order the Cragar S/S with whatever backspace you wanted.

CRR-61717, for example, 15 in. x 7 in., 5 x 4.5/ 4.75/ 5 in. Bolt Circle, 2.25 in. Backspace, tells me they should read their own listings more carefully, if I remember my schooboy math, 2.25 is even less than 3.50.

Try asking about CRR-61817-SPEC, and if they give you a 'dumb look', call Cragar.

Here's the whole list from Summit:
