Inner Fender Skirt Dust Shield - How to Attach

I own a 67 327/300 and someone trimmed the right front (sitting in car) dust shield by simply cutting it off. I would like to replace it and have bought the approapriate parts. I've read that these can be glued and stapled. My questions are:

1. What kind of glue and where can I get some?

2. How does one insert the staples? Brute force?

The dust shields were not glued in originally.

To install a new one....

Carefully remove the old one, straighten the staple "legs" under the fender before removal....
Align the new shield with the fender indentation.
Using a small drill bit (sized to just fit into the staple holes) drill from under the fender thru the new shield using the existing holes as your template.
Install new staples from the engine compartment thru the shield and then thru the fender.
Bend the staple legs, using a needle nose plier, into a semicircle "hump" like the originals. When complete they should be bent as the originals....

Are the new staples stainless steel?
Replacement staples are all different sizes,I took a grinder to make them the same lengh. I also started from the center and worked back down both sides.I had my wife hold a pcs of steel on the inside of the wheel well to press staples in so I could bend "legs" over.I used 2 kinds of needle nose pliers 90o and a straight.That small drill bit needs to be backed drill from inside the wheel well,Don't drill them all at once 1 at a time. Caution don't drill wife's hand they will quit and go inside.#$*@Denny72

THe staples I used were not SS. Also they were uniform in size. Quality probably depends on Vendor,,,,,

I agree. Its very maddening to drill into the wifes hand, gets blood all over the shield....

Measure thickness, most available are too thin. Check past postings for correct size, sorry I forgot!
Do not use SS use the mild steel ones, some material is available from Doc Rebuild for $3-4, pn 1274099. Others also have - just got there.

Also some good postings on how to bend them.

I bought the correct thickness material form LICS recently. Prior to this I could only find the thin stuff.
