    C2 Speedo Cable Design

I'm working a 1967 and can someone please describe what a correct speedo cable looks like for a 67 4 speed? Does it have a black coating? My speedo cable does not have any coating - it is a flexible metal cable. Is this a replacement or original?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Here's an original -- note the ends

I believe this is correct for 4-speed cars for '65 thru 67.

The black coating has a slight "aligator texture.

Thanks. Very good pictures. By the way, I spoke to Paragon Corvette Reproductions today and I was told the original speedo cable for a 1967 was a braided metal one. Now I don't know what to think. I can't find anything in the NCRS judging manual so the speedo cable may not be judged?

That's what I've got on my late July '65 built car.

Steve, most if not all of the 67 experts are at the NCRS National meeting in Boston. They may not be on the Internet till it ends after Thursday night.

Mine agrees with what Wayne posted. Speedo cables are judged and are in the JM.

I am definately not an expert but it is a replacement.

They may have misunderstood you and thought you said 1957, not 1967; the '57 speedo cable had a convoluted metal outer casing, but the '67 does not - it's the conventional black plastic material.
