    Was the 69 oil plug gasket copper or plastic?

      Per a 1975 GM Parts book, REV4-75, the GASKET, Oil Pan Drain Screw on the 53-75 is 3921989 (nylon 1/2" I.D. x 29/32" O.D.)

          Thanks Myron, Thats what I have now(nylon) and it looks like it's been there forever but I guess there is a chance that someone replaced it at one time so I wasn't sure if that was original or if copper was. ...I'm getting to anal I tink

          Oh and thanks for the tip on the vacuum pump. As luck would have it though I found mine a little while ago while I was looking for something else...which I might say I never did find....go figure!
