C2 Parking Brake Grommet

Can anyone supply a picture of 65-66 parking brake grommet, the one that attaches to the firewall and through which the cable goes. I need to replace my missing one, and I noticed that all the retailers, i.e. LI, Paragon etc, sell them but they explicitly say that it is a replacement part, not reproduction. I would like to know how close this replacement part resembles the original. Should I spend the time to find a real one or is the replacement one close enough. The assembly manual makes it look somewhat like a funnel.

If '65, added in later MY

Rob, I checked both my early and late '65s, and I see no grommet (seal 3781106, added April 23, 1965 per '65 AIM UPC 5, Sheet C1, along with 2 washers to allow space for the seal between the firewall and the pulley/bracket assy.) My late car could have easily "lost" this seal in it's many adventures.

Would be interested to hear from others with late '65s and '66s, and get a pic (as you've requested) of an original.

Thanks for checking Wayne. Coincidentily my 66 did not have a grommet either. I would have thought that I would have saved it during the teardown if it was there originally. It is a very low milage car so I wouldn't expect it to have been lost either. The AIM shows it and the retailers sell them so I am assuming that I will need one.

Any other 65 66 owners out there that can check this. Thanks.
