C2:67 Help! Correct Fuel Line Size

Steel fuel line to pump, 67 small block (300 HP), Part no. 3751442 per the AIM.
Is it 3/8" or 5/16" flexible fuel line? also correct length? Paragons says 9" but it seems too short and makes a kink at the bend with 3/8"

Using Gates XL line. Why do these fuel lines say "not for fuel injection".
Are they OK for a carb car?

Re: C2:67 Help! Correct Fuel Line Size

Jerry, As far as your second question goes the Gates line will work fine for your low pressure carb line. I don't know for sure but think the modern FI cars need a line that will withstand more pressure. I buy that same hose and have used it on the old FI cars with no problem. But wait until the guru's chirp in. Ask the same question on your new venture. John

      Problem solved

Used the Goodyear SAE 30R7 in 3/8" (9.5 mm)from Kragens. However instead of using a 9" length, I used an 11" length. This gave it a little smoother radius bend without a kink.

The old one just cracked out right on the outside of the bend and started leaking. Let's see how long this one lasts.

If judging points are not a consideration I'd use the FI rated hose. JMHO

Re: C2:67 Help! Correct Fuel Line Size

          Jerry,
As John suggests modern fuel injection (the port type) runs at pressures sometimes as high as 60 psi. In these systems that pressure is generated at the pump, usually in the fuel tank, and carries all the way to the engine. The lines have to be able to take that pressure. The line you are looking at is not designed for those kinds of pressure.
