67 expansion tank Tee, Corbin or screw clamps

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have studied the 67 AIM and the searched the archives and can not find a definitive answer for my 67 A/C small block.

On the heater hose Tee at the expansion tank there are four clamps. I have seen cars configured two ways:

    1) All four clamps screw-type, and

    2) Only the two on the hose to the tank being screw type, with the other two on the heater hoses at the Tee being the Corbin "hog ring" style.

When I first restored this area on my 67 I used four screw type clamps, and so far the judges have not said anything about it being incorrect. However, I'm getting ready for the National and I would like to be sure I have this detail correct.

I understand that the configuration may have changed over the various C2 production years. My interest is specifically for a 67 A/C car.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Re: 67 expansion tank Tee, Corbin or screw clamps

Joe - Here's what's on my Sept 66 base motor 67 w/ C60 and I believe the clamps and configurations at the heater hose Tee to be typical factory production. I also believe the base motor 67s w/0 C60 has the identical set up.

    1. The heater hose clamps with the exception of the 2 on the short hose from the Tee to the expansion tank are the spring wire type, (AIM P/N 272852).

    2. The 2 clamps on the short hose from the Tee to the expansion tank are a galvanized stamped metal band design and uses a slotted fillister head machine screw with a nut to tighten the clamp. The metal band material is 1/2" wide and has two slots 1-1/4" long x 5/32" around the clamp. Clamps I have seen have a stamped designed G logo on the bottom and are also stamped OA-A2 in small letters.

Hope this helps. See you at the National.

    Pete

      Hi Peter:

Thanks. Based on your input I have changed mine to the configuration you describe (total of two screw clamps).

Joe - Sounds good. One week to go and get those details wrapped up. I'm looking forward to seeing you and the car in Boston. Pete
