When installing the weatherstrip on the trunk lid of a 1959, is there a specific starting point in order to: a. Keep out water .... and b. not lose competition points.

The NCRS is not a competition. No points are given for winning. No stars are glued on the roster for perfect attendance. Also, regardless of where the strip is started in gluing, no degree of workmanship will prevent water from entering. The C1 Corvette is a sport's car! Ya gotta be a sport to sit there getting wet as you drive along. The C5 preserves this engineering accomplishment!
