1960 Aluminum Dash Insert

I wnat to replace the aluminum insert behind the grab bar on my '60. How difficult a do it yourself job is it?. I've heard some horror stories. If I don't do it myself can anyone recomend a source to have it restored? How about quality and pricing? Thanks for any help'

Dave, Your comment obout the difficulty of replaceing the aluminum insert is correct. It can be very frustrating and difficult. There are suppliers who will do the work for you at a pretty hefty price. Corvette Central for one, advertises that they do it.

A few years ago there was an excellent article in the Restorer on how to do the resto yourself. If you can get your hands on an index to the Restorer you should be able to find the article. Good Luck...
