67 battery heat shield correct finish is?

i purchased a battery tray kit from paragon and the heat shield appears to be "gold" or yellow diechromate zinc,is this the correct finish or should it be black---thanks for any inputs,phil

I assume '67 is like '66, in which case it should be black.

The Judging Manual says:
"This shield is stamped steel painted semi-gloss black".

Just paint it semi-flat black, Krylon 1613 (#?).

hot up there jerry? i did just that yesterday afternoon,the paint dried as it came out of the can it was so hot,figured i would keep it as it has some extra corrosion protection,thanks to all ,phil

Phil,

At 9 PM last night when I responded to your post, it was 92 on my deck thermo, coming down from about 105 during the day here in Sonora. Forecast for today is for a little relief down to 100. Boy, this past week has been misery.

But I guess it has been hot all over the country, especially in the SW. Will be glad to take a week off to Boston.

How hot is it, guys? What's the forecast for Boston, the end of this month?
