best way to clean white walls?

What's the best way to clean scuff marks off of white walls? The mark seems to be from another tire that rubbed against it during storage or shipping and I'd like to figure out how to clean it off.

If a scuff mark, any good cleaner wil remove it, ie; Westleys. If it has been stained by another tire, FORGET it.

wHAT AN OLD FRIEND AND MENTOR TOLD BE WAS TO GET A 120 SANDING DISK AND ACTUALLY SAND IT OUT (IF ALL ELSE FAILS)IT WORKS FOR RAISED WHITE LETTERS, AND SHOULD WORK FOR WW TIRES TOO, BUT MAYBE NOT ON A DISC SANDER... OOPS! Sorry about the caps, I type with a modified 4 finger hunt and pec, looking at the key board...

The whitewalls on my `62 were discoloured and ended up getting them white with fine Steel wool and a powdered cleanser such as Comet.

Try wetting the tire down then applying Simple Green and scrub with sand paper, brillo pads, or any lightly aggressive abrasive.

I have removed this type of stain by the above methods but it will come back in about a month.

I've had excellent results using Purple Power full strength and a brass brush (Charcoal grille cleaner). Spray on, let it set a for about 1 minute, scrub with the brush and rinse with lots of water. Don't get the solution on the paint......if you do rinse immediately!!!

soft scrub with bleach works best for me with no abrasion i also use it on my white vinyl seats. it bightens them up with no degradation to finish

Try Lacquer Thinner or Acetone

I use this, a little rubbing and they are bright white.
