    1972 driver side visor

I have been told on the backside of the driver's sun visor an "engine starting procedure" was stitched to it. The car came from the factory to the showroom with this.

Is this correct? If so are they available? In that the instructions are stitched on I would think you would have to also get the visor.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Relying on my memory here, but early cars, built in calendar year 1971 did not have that. They started with the January 1972 built cars. I have a November built car so I don't have one but I THINK that they are glued on and not stitched on. I recall that the 1970-72 TIM & JG has this information in it. I will look for you when I get back to the house. I have never seen one for sale in either original or repro condition.

I recently saw a reproduction. The person in posession posts here frequently. Perhaps he will share where he got it.

My Dec. 71 coupe has it glued on. There appears to be a part number on it, but I can't read all the numbers.

REPRODUCTION? NOS I'll go find it, after looking it over closely it is dated 72 so it would not work on 1970 I had to call in a favor for that part. Even Joe could not help on this NOS/reproduction.If it was a repo they would be easy to get! yes Denny72

The starting procedure is printed on fabric glued to the visor. The date on it is November 23, 1971, so earlier cars will not have them. December cars are the earliest we have seen them. The problems with attempted reproductions is getting the correct material.

                Denny,

Not worth throwing a repro on your car. It'll stick out like a sore thumb.

I told you, don't touch it. You can't make it "more" original.
