To those who responded to my post about my 66 stumbling/hesitating on the highway, I thought I would update you. I took the distributor to a place with a dist. tester and, low and behold, the points started misfiring at around 2500 rpm. I looked at them closely and they grease all over them! When I rebuilt the dist. last week I must have put to much grease on the lobes and when it started spinning, it started slinging grease everywhere. That is why I was able to drive 20 miles out away and got about 10 miles back home before it started acting up. It took a while for the grease to accumulate on the points. I will be installing the dist. tomorrow and will post final results, but I am 95% certain that my problem is solved.
