    1969 / 1970 Price Range & Corv Carlisle?

I'm in the market for a 1969 or 1970 corvette. I prefer a convertible but open to a coupe. It has to be a L46, numbers, manual.

I'm attending Corvette Carlisle in August. I haven't been there since I was 14. I believe I know the answer to my first question, but I need to confirm since I haven't been there in so long:

    1. Can I expect to see a lot of Corvettes (preferrable 69 and 70) for sale?

    2. Can I expect to see quality Corvettes for sale?

    3. What is a fair price I should expect to pay for a 69 or 70 with L46 - numbers, manual - Convertible? Coupe?

Thanks, as always, for the insight/help. I'm starting to "justify my cons" when I'm considering a car and I need this help.

All years all colors all diffrent conditions, can't guarantee a lot of anything, but the most you'll see in one palce.

Yes and of course those will be priced accordingly, could be a one owner low mile car once driven by Zora.

    3. What is a fair price I should expect to pay for a 69 or 70 with L46 - numbers, manual - Convertible? Coupe?
It would just be a guess, wait till you get there before you get your hopes up.

I've looked but could never buy a car there. Maybe I'm cheap or expected too much. If you're going there to buy a car may I suggest you bring at least 1 1/2 times as much money with you than you feel comfortable spending. Know what you are looking for and at cause you'll look at a lot of junk but with some luck you'll find what you're looking for

Check the auction listings before you go for what you want to look at. If their were five 69-70 L-46's with manual transmission in any condition I would be suprised. Their are lots of Corvettes for sale but your window is small.

          Thanks Kevin, Rob and Lyle!

Lyle - how do I check the auction listing? Also, do they have a section for private owners to display and sell their cars or do all cars go through an auction format?

          Thanks again,
          Greg

The field for private sales has lots of corvettes 200 maybe also many dealers bring cars that don't go up for auction. This is a guess but all total their must be 1000 corvettes for sale at the show.

All L-46 motors came with 4 speeds; the engine was not available with TH400.
As a metter of fact, more 350 horse cars were sold in 69 than base engine 300 horse cars!

Carlisle is THE place for Corvettes. Whether you'll find a car you like there I dunno, but you'll sure see a lot to compare.

                Best of Luck!
