Were the stock steel wheels dated in '64? If so, where does this date usually appear on the wheel? Thanks....

Gary - If C1 wheel dating carried over into...
...the C2 models, remove the tire, search for info on the "inside" of the rim. Includes KH mfg logos, size indications and dates of mfg. Strip or bead blast if info is difficult to read. It's all there - of course, remount the tire and it goes away... Easier than a stamp pad... -

There is definitely a date code on the inside. You should be able to find without too much trouble as the inside of the wheels aren't generally painted.
Also keep in mind that supposedly all 64 wheels were painted black. If you have a very ealt '64 production model, the wheels may be painted the color of the car as they were for the 63 models. My wheels were dated 7-63 if I remember correctly, so as was customary for the time leftover parts were carried over tot he following model year. My car has loads of leftovers including wheels, starter brackets, hood, etc. I would never had learned this without taking the car ot a regional meet. I strongly suggest that to everyone.Comment
