(1) Glass is not dated.

(2) Glass is essentially the same for '64-66 vs. '67 and later with one exception. The early mirrors had the glass crimp retained by the housing while later versions glued the mirror to the grey plastic back plate. Hence the edges of the early mirror glass were slightly beveled to accommodate the crimped edges of the SS housing. Later glass that you can buy from Paragon ready to insert have squared edges...

(3) In addition to several independents doing mirror restoration, Paragon also offers the service.

My mirror is the standard mirror. No flipper arm for the day/night setting. I know Paragon restores these but was hoping to help out the smaller shop. I buy a LOT of parts from Paragon with no complaints. Thanks DG

Dick - Check the 65 TIM&JG on the standard IRVM mirror. I know the mirror glass on the standard interior mirrors manufactured by DMI is dated and I would expect that Paragon can supply the dated mirror glass. Check the archives on replacing the glass, I'm sure replacing the mirror glass in those mirrors has been addressed. Have fun. Pete

Problem is my mirror is in bad shape. Tiny freckles of rust on mirror housing and pitting on the mounting bracket. DG

Comments are for optional D/N mirror...

The 'rub' in restoring a standard mirror is two fold:

(1) Decrimping the housing to remove the glass and re-crimping it after the glass has been replaced.

(2) Cleaning the housing and replating the chrome finish WITHOUT oblitherating the 'GUIDE' emboss.

Are Paragon's mirrors correct or are mine???

I went to Paragon's website and took a close look at their mirrors. Repo. and restored original, supposedly. They show the back side of them standard and the day/night version. Unlike their mirrors, My interior mirror on the back has 2 (rivets), 1 on each side of the ballstud. Below the ball stud is the word in capital lettering GUIDE. Is my mirror a relacement. According to the JG my mirror should be dated. I do not see a date. My 65 is a Jan. 65 car. Thanks! DG
