    67 327/350 ; Fuel pump #40433, stamping??

Working on a 67 corvette that was recently judged. Previously the car recieved a full deduct for a non ac fuel pump. We purchased a new replacement ac #40433, from paragon their part #11505, supposed to be an exact replacement. In judging the pump everything was ok except for the stamping(#40433), which on the replacement it is stamped on the bottom of the flange, viewed only from the bottom of the car. Is this the correct location or should it be stamped on the top of the flange like the judge claimed?

      Hi Bill:

The pump in your photo does not look like a 67 SB pump. The upper and lower housings were crimped together, not screwed together.

To the best of my knowledge, the 67 SB pump had the number stamped on the bottom of the flange, so that it could only be viewed from under the car. There were usually a couple extra characters in front of the 40433 that were some kind of manufacturing tracking code.

My error, I misread as 40083, used on all pre-67 units.

So, Do we have a correct pump with the stamping on the bottom front of the flange?

            Here's an original 40433

Refurbed of course. If you look real close you will see the numbers stamped on the bottom of the flange, 40433 usually preceeded by two vendor letters. This one I think is PO40433.
