Mike --- I realize that the part # you reported on the case may have only been a component of the assy. (as Joe L. reported), but the O45 A8 is close to the format of the date code, which is yyy x zz, where the y is Julian date count, x is the last digit of the year (1966 = 6), and zz is the work shift and plant identifying code. If you can re-examine your markings, maybe you can pick out the year, which may assist in determining if original. Good luck.
