Rob, Try some white vinegar. You say the lead is oxidized. Try some toilet bowl cleaner that's watered down. That's strong stuff. You said something around the house. Dry scrubbing the weights with baking soda and water-make a paste and use a toothbrush. Or forget all of the above and turn the pressure down low and give them a shot of glass bead. Then a touch of dull clear. Surely you have a glass bead machine around the house. John

Lead is a dirty metal it will never keep a shine,With in weeks it will be back the way it was.But I like Johns answer bakeing soda and a soft brush.

Gary, Thanks again for the fine article in "The Restorer" on wheel weights. I am still looking for the right ones. My 63 has altered micros on. Massaged is a better word. It's a fun thing and someday I'll have the correct ones. Too many guys are looking for just Micro wheel weights and as you pointed out there were other brands and or variations. I have xeroxed your article and pass the pics out to junk yard friends in hope of finding some correct ones.

                Rob,

My e-mail to you bounced. I'll give the baking soda try.
