    C2 '67 wheel beauty rings

    Could anyone provide a little insight into the '67 wheel beauty trim rings?

    The service replacements in mid-67 were the type with the full 360 deg. clips (I think), whereas the as-delivered were made with 4 clips @ 90 degs. Would the 90 deg. version ever have been offered over-the-GM parts counter?

    I'm asking because in mid-'67 I purchased 2 replacement rings, and they were the 360 deg. type.

    Thanks.

    Tom

    Tom,
    I believe the 360 type are more recent repros.

      Hi Tom....I bought over the counter trim rings for my '57 Chev, but don't remember what year (probably early '70s) and they were the 4 clip type. I most likely still have the boxes with the part# they came in as I'm a pack rat.....Regards Frank

        The 4-clip versions were available for a while as service replacements. However, some or all of the service replacements have the four clips located randomly with respect to the valve stem opening. On production trim rings, one of the clips was always located right at the valve stem opening.

          Hello;
          Rick Miller is very knowledgeable about Trim Rings.
          I believe he has submitted an article to the Driveline explaining the fine points.
