Hi All,
I'm evaluating my 1966 base motor car against the 1966 Judging Manual (JM) one page at a time. It's just a small detail, but tonight I was looking at the Wittek tower clamps on my upper and lower radiator hoses. They appear to be appropriately aged and correct. On page 85 of the most current JM, the text says in part, "The clamps are dated by quarter and year. Example: "3/65" = 3rd quarter of 1965."
I looked VERY closely at my clamps and was happy to see that they do have a date code on them, however, my clamps CLEARLY read "5/66" which could not be possible according to the JM since there's no such thing as a "5th" quarter. Could it be that the JM is incorrect? Instead of being dated by quarter, could the clamps have been dated by month? If so, could the dates on my clamps, 5/66, actually mean May 1966?
Thanks for your help.
Jim C.
