C2 New Roof & Deck Panel Install Prob

I need to install a new roof and deck panel from Semmerwhatever and have a bit of a problem. As you cam see I have about a 3 inch height mismatch with my tail panel. The deck portion is contacting the rear of the tub and wont let it drop further. The additional picture shows where the interference is. Any ideas?

It's clear you haven't gotten to trial fit of the rear fenders yet, and I expect that will be revealing.

The Bubba solution would be to simply trim the rear bulkhead, but that would be treating the symptom. The real question is...why is the panel apparently shaped different from the original. You may find more problems when you trial fit the fenders. A local friend with a driver C2 to compare and measure would be invaluable.

Personally, I would take it up with the panel supplier, and I would be skeptical of easy answers.

Is it possible the rear body is sagging down without the rigidity provided by the rear fenders? Was this body stored for a long period on a body dolly with inadequate rear support?

        Panel Fit

        Hi Greg,
My 1965 coupe is stripped of paint and it is a no hit body. On that car, if you take a metal rule and hook it in the bottom of the back glass opening, it measures 10 1/4 inches to the top of the gas door opening, 15 5/8 to the bottom and 30 3/4 inches to the center of the bonding seam at the tail light panel.
You might also want to lay the back glass in the opening before you get to far and make sure if it fits. If you need other measurements, let me know.
