Holley Accelerator Pump

This is probably a question for Clem Z, but I'd appreciate any info from any member. Holley 4054, built Dec 1967. It was rebuilt by Bob Kunz about 20 years ago. It has the newer style accelerator pump cover, which is now leaking. I have an older, thicker style cover with the countersunk screws that Clem says aren't as prone to leak. Question is: which cover is correct, and can I use the thicker one and still avoid going to NCRS hell?

i just rebuild them,NCRS judges them.

someone else will have to answer this question. i would still run the sealing surface over some emery paper to check the flatness

I have several - none for sale as Joe would say

I have two original 4054 carbs (a third was sold with my L88) and multiple 1969 vintage 3418 carbs, ALL have the accel pump covers with the counter sunk clutch head screws.
