    Early Driveline Magazines - Value?

A friend of mine who recently retired cleaned out his attic and brought a bunch of stuff over to sell or I may buy it myself. I'm trying to determine the value of some of the items. He owned a 56, 61 and 75 and they each were in some of the magazines.

    Included:

10 original (mostly 70's and early-mid 80's) GM Promo's still in the boxes
Many original sales brouchures back to the early 70's
NCRS Driveline issues #1 to #56
Many early Vette-Vues, Vette, and Corvette Fever Magazine
The first and many "Vette-N-News" Newspapers

And other stuff I still have to go through. we are not really interested in making a buck, but more establishing value, if any.

    Thanks

Re: Early Driveline Magazines - Value?

HI Joe, I remember when my girl I was married to thru away all my old Vette News newspapers. I was upset. I had every one. They were really educational in their days. Had a lot of good info. Doubt if they are worth much though. It seems when I go to the shows and bring along a couple of boxes of Corvette News you can't give them away. Just to unload them after dragging them around for years I sold them for 1 buk each. The Corvette mags usually go for 50 cents if you are lucky. Unless one of them features a high dollar Corvette-then you might get a dollar or more. Vette Vues mags. I have brought stacks of them to the shows and sell them for 4 for a buk. Although the ones with Ken Kaysers FI articles I save. To recap if you could actually get a dollar a magazine you have done quite well. That's just my personal observation. I doin't know what our "Driveline" is worth. If you had "THe Restorer" you would have something more valuable. Take care, John

I am sure someone would want them, might put some on eBay or sell the whole lot on eBay .

Not too many people interested in old magazines, Joe. I collect them too.

We live in the "electronic" age, and much of the info is available on CD, etc.

Same deal with original literature. Seems like nobody wants it anymore.

I've got extensive collections of just about every Corvette magazine out there, and other than early Corvette News and Corvette Restorers, nobody seems to be collecting them anymore.

          Collecting Paper items

          Chuck,
I share your sentiments. We both can remember the pre-internet days when collecting this stuff was a real challenge and lots of fun. Times change but like everything I think collecting paper items will return someday. Might not be any time soon but it will be back.
