I just received a set of seat covers from Long Island for my 67. I didn't pay much attention to them except look in the box to be sure they were the right color (saddle). I took them over to our local interior guy along with the freshly painted frames, new cushions, springs and the rest of the hardware. (After reading in the archives about other guys having back problems and having to go to the doctor after wrestling around with the new cushions and covers I figured it would be money well spent).
Well low and behold I go to pick them up and my man said he had a slight problem with the latch hole on the seat backs. One seat back had the latch hole on the right side and the other back had the latch hole in the left side. AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?? On my frames the latch assemblies are both on the same side which is correct, RIGHT?
To make matters worst, the interior guy, who has been in business for over 30 years cut a hole in the "wrong" back cover for the latch. I now have one back with two holes on the bottom. Which pretty much destroys any chance I have of getting a "replacement" for my "wrong" cover from Long Island!
I knew I should of headed to the tavern this morning instead of the garage!!
