'72 tire size

I think I know the answer to this from previous posts but I'll ask again to make sure.... Will a 255 60-15 tire clear the front fenders on a '72? I believe the answer is "maybe" since there may be inteference at the extreme ends of the steering travel to the lower sections of the fender. The car has 245 60-15s now which clear but I like the slightly large look of the 255 size. Thanks for any help.

It's still a "maybe". It depends on a lot of variables like what is the car's actual ride height, how much interference at extreme wheel angles is acceptable to you, and other factors.

As you note, the P245-60-15 size is almost a "sure fit" on a C3. However, the P245-60-15 size is getting harder-and-harder to find.

i have a 71 a/c auto coupe with 255 60 16 they work just fine---the car came with them---i prefer the 245 60 15 and joe is correct with them being scarce---i "understand" the bfg does limited runs of them so if that is the size/brand you want just keep checking and you will find them---the last set i bought about 6 mos ago they were about $85 each---good luck,phil

I have used the 255 60-15 Goodyear Eagle GT's on my 70 coupe for many years. This size tire was first available on 1978 Corvettes and was used on all but 5,932 of the 1982 production year Corvettes.
