    My last 40 miles C3

We are going out in style!
I took my road tires off today and put on my Speedway nylon tires.I can see them flat spot all ready.
Close your eyes, Put your hands on the front bumper and slide your hands down her curves.
The 350 200hp is singing and the motor is clean.
    My ? I can't yet.....
    My ? is Bloomington Gold
Does a judge ride in the car with you ?
If I ask the judge to drive the car will he?
    40 miles will go quick.
Would be nice to share this time in space.

Re: My last 40 miles C3

When I Survivored my '72 a few years ago - no - the judge does not ride with you, they basically give you a map to/from a destination, and when you get to the destination a judged puts a sticker on your placard - if you make it back to the judging field before the allotted time is up, your done !

It was a lot of fun 'parading' with a whole bunch of survivor candidates !!!

Re: My last 40 miles C3

I'm certainly no official, but when I did it circa 2004, I took my daughter. We drove from St. Charles to a race track about 20 miles away, got the sticker, and returned without incident. It was fun trip, although my '72 still has all of the original hoses and belts, which certainly meant I wasn't able to relax too much.

              Hi Mike #2
I'm saving the best for last! Which one? Don't know yet.
Bloomington Gold is the first BIG test for this car.
I would have to ask #3966 He knows the direction.

Re: I wish I knew what you are talking about

The last 40 miles are the survivor drive. After that miles will stop and the car will be put away.
The last show for the car is a NCRS And I wanted to ask your advice on which one. Don't know anyone els I would ask advice from. I thought you were following my posts or maybe your upset with me.
On the drive I did not know if the judge road with you and if he did could he drive it.Has to be the best way to judge a car. This is the last the car will be driven. To me this would be big to drive an original 1972 one last time. Than my wife asked me mabe a kid we know could ride in the survivor drive. I thought I was keeping everone up on the car and what I was doing. My mistake I need a vacation dont I.

                        my 2 cents

I have been following your posts, and I am not angry -- there is no reason to be.

I know, and most who have been following your posts know, you are taking the car to Bloomington, and from your recent posts you intend to put the car away after one more show -- an NCRS event.

I suggest you make decisions for the future of the car as you go along. Consider that you just might enjoy this enough to do it more often. If you don't enjoy the show, then you can decide to put the car away.... but make that decision after you have experienced a couple of events. They can be very different .. . the events that is. That's my two cents. You, of course, are free to do as you wish.

                          Re: my 2 cents

                          I agree.

In addition, if he wishes to try for NCRS Bowtie he will have to bring it to at leaat two NCRS shows. And, for a 5th Star, even more.

Then, if he gets good with a camera and a photo hosting site, he can learn to post pictures of original features and help people learn about original cars.

At least, that's what some of us do.

If the car is "retired" to sit in a garage after "one more show" it really doesn't do anyone any good, does it? Just asking.

The Bloomington Survivor thing is an...

...interesting, expensive venue. I am unable to fully wrap my brain around what it really means. However, if you really want to subject your car to a judging process that, in fact, judges your car's originality, rather than it's ability to be able to drive 40 miles, I suggest you think about a real judging of your car's originality and enter NCRS Bowtie Judging.

You may or not know I bought this car a BG last year as a driver.Till I found out this was very close to an original car. It's a birthday party for me. Now my ONLY thing is to show you guys and give it a pedgree so others will take it serious. I bleed NCRS and hold #3966 up high.If you found an important paper do you put phone # all over it, No you give it to someone who knows what it is.Same with the car, show it to someone who knows.I do not want to put a wrench to it till you see it "info" Judging yes that could be fun. I need to fit in better.I can be a handfull at times.Putting photos up, First on my list.
I need to know is Bloomington words not to be spoken!

One more last thing the post about trailer queen. My car is now a TQ so I had to say some thing. And thats a good thing.Denny72
