C2 Help with Panel Adhesive

I just talked to the local parts supplier who handles SEM products panel adhesive. I am replacing a headlight support bar. He suggests I need the $80.00 gun to properly use the adhesive. I would appreciate your help and advice on needing the gun versus mixing the product by hand.

Ok, why pinch pennies, or dollars at this point. I bought the gun, and the adhesive. Any tips on installing the header bar still welcome, I hope to do it just once. Anyone have any detailed pictures to share?
