    Old tires ?

How do you care for 34 year old tires.Store inside what can be put on them that judges will like.Or clean tire with simple green before judging.Keep them aired up or deflated.Something is needed to keep rubber soft.

Forget trying to save them. You can

perhaps extend the life by simply not having them on the car except for show display and otherwise keeping them out of ultraviolet rays, but there is NO MAGIC ANSWER.

I lower the pressure in my Firestone 500's from the 20# max. that I use in them to 5#-10# when they are in storage. I would store them on the tread and keep carpet between them to protect the white from transfer of black onto the white letters. I had one blow out in storage before I started to lower the pressure. You may have better old tires as I think thease were the worst when new.

It's better to give the tires "in storage" more pressure. When you give them less pressure the tire became little smaller so if you inflate them again for use the tires become little tears.
I do this with my tires ( BF Goodrich 775x15 )every year when i store it over the winter and keep them out of the sun so the white strip will not fade away also use water and little soap for cleaning.
