I have a February 3rd week build 1963 Corvette. I have a second addition Owners manual, is this correct for the car? There are no dates in the book that I can see. Also, does anyone have any ideas or help on where I might get a 1963 Chevrolet warranty book? Thanks to all for any assistance they can offer. Rick

Rick,
original owner's manuals do have a date - don't remember what mine is, but I have July 11 build-date car - warranty books come up on eBabe, and also in the Driveline - let me check when I get home from my gummit jobRick Aleshire

Re: 1963 Owner's Manual and Warranty Book
I have one that states "Part No. 3821497 SECOND EDITION" on the Contents page. I am quite sure this is an early repro (reprinted version). I cannot find any dates either.

Re: 1963 Owner's Manual and Warranty Book
Also, my known original 1964 O.M. does not list a part number like the 63 version. Simply says FIRST EDITION
There is a HELM Inc. order form for shop manuals which lists all kinds of Chevy Cars and Trucks, in addition to the Corvette Shop Manual and Supplement. It says "Prices subject to change after July 1, 1964" near the bottom.
The early repro mentioned (for 1963) does not have these pages...

Re: Owner's Manual/Guide Edition Dates
Rick - I just checked thru some 1962 to 1965 Chevrolet Owners Guides as well and some Chevy II and Chevelle Owners Guides from the same years and none of them have dates assocated with the editions. First Owners Guides with dates showing month and year appearing on them are the 1966 Chevrolet Owners Guide and 1966 Corvette Owners guides.
I expect that the same pattern applies to the pre-1966 Corvette Owners Guides.

Re: 1963 Owner's Manual and Warranty Book
Rick, My 63 coupe was built a week after yours. Has the original first edition owners manual. Albeit a bit wrinkled. Has the original warranty book and in fact most all the original stuff in the glove box. Doesn't have the orignal key bag though. Getting the warranty book will be a really tough one for sure. I mean the dealer signed those. Has the name of the selling dealer, etc. See your JM for a list of the glove box stuff. Also see the AIMS for a more complete list. Complete list means the key bag. Re: 1963 Owner's Manual and Warranty Book
Was the Key bag cloth or was it paper like I am use to seeing in the '67's? Thanks, RickRick Jones

Re: 1963 Owner's Manual and Warranty Book
Rick - Hopefully, John will clarify, but I'm not aware of the key bags prior to the paper key envelope specified and used with the 1968 production Corvettes and later into the early 70s. Check the DB archives during the last 3-4 months for addition info. Pete- Top

Re: Key Envelope
John - There was a DB tread on the paper key envelope a month or so ago. It is called out in the 68 Corvette AIM and there are reference to the key envelope in several subsequent years into the early 1970s. Pete- Top
