I want to get the word out that I called Lectric Limited and it's like they don't want to help anyone. It's bad for business when they tell you to look it up in the AIM. I just want to know exactly where do the ground wires go in the engine compartment? The big ground wire hooks up to the starter but which bolt? The other smaller ground wire goes to the blower but which screw does it ground to? Then there's also the red fused hot wire. Mine has been Mickey Moused with a wire running from the positive battery terminal to the fused end of the harness. Where does the hot wire come from? Raymond

Isn't it funny that the above - in my view -
TOTALLY APPROPRIATE responses, will somehow soon find their way to a chat room that classifies the responses as "snobbish" or ??????.
Surely God did NOT intend that this gentleman would have to purchase an owner's manual, an AIM, or actually have to go out among the heathens and look at a sister car!!! Somewhere a Regional Rep is cowering in the corner, awaiting the full blown retribution of this unsatisified member - sorry, cancel that last part - probably NOT a member.- Top

Re: '66 427 a/c wiring Help!
Yes, the AIM is a great tool but not perfect. We all know that it leaves out details but it's best for me to find a good representative sister car. Thanx.- Top

Re: '66 427 a/c wiring Help!
Actually, if yo have the aim, route the wires according to the exact routing described, and allow for some slack between fixed points and engine mounted locations, you will find there are few if any decisions to tbe made. As for the ground at the starter, put it on the same bolt as the battery ground terminal is attached to.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: '66 427 a/c wiring Help!
You'll find the answers to each of your questions illustrated in the assembly manual; spend some time with it and you'll find each item. UPC 6 has engine-related electrical, and UPC 12 has the rest, with radio-related electrical in the U69 section.- Top

Hope All you guys are Kidding
This fellow member is asking a question and you guys just about attack him. Most of the query here on the board is from guys that are too lazy or cheap to buy the books or do a little research for the most mundane questions or just like to tell everyone about their car. He said he has asked a vendor, so Iam sure he has been doing research about it. I remember he posted about it before. If you think the AIM has the answer to his query post the paper number, I also would like to see it. Phil 8063- Top

I Think...
We should ask Uncle Jack to come over here to go through the AIM, ground point by ground point...I bet it'll be clear after that. (Only kidding you, Jack!) ROFL
Seriously, Phil...These cars were built by guys with maybe a high school education. It HAS to be in the AIM, or those guys couldn't have built these cars in any kind of consistent manner. They may have gotten an official waiver to deviate from the AIM for efficiency once they figured out what it was they were trying to do, but it started out being defined IN THE AIM.- Top

Re: Hope All you guys are Kidding
See the '66 A.I.M., UPC 12, Sheet A9. View "B" shows the heater and wiper motor black ground wire under the outboard starter attaching bolt head along with the negative battery cable, and shows the red main power feed wire on the battery cable stud on the starter solenoid. The upper left corner of the illustration shows the 2-wire heater blower ground pigtail connector pushed on the ground spade on the blower motor flange.- Top

Re: Hope All you guys are Kidding
"Now isnt that alot better than the BS that was posted above, that my point."
I think the point of some of the posters is, why did John have to page through the AIM to find the answer to the question when Ray is likely entirely capable of doing the same thing? I am NOT trying to pick on Ray, but as noted above there are many times when "see the AIM" is an entirely appropriate answer. If Ray had mentioned that he'd studied sections X, Y and Z of the AIM but still couldn't find the answer then it's entirely appropriate to ask for a little specific AIM guidance.
I've received the "It's in the AIM" answer to a few questions previously, and my personal response was "Duh, of course it is, I just never thought to look there."
I've recently spent time studying the AIM for my 70 Cutlass and learned a LOT about the car.
