    66 427/425 Battery Box

    I have seen two configurations for the battery hold down system for the 66 coupe (big block car). One shows a SHIELD on the inboard (engine) side of the hold down. The other only shows the top bracket with the threaded hold down "straps" on each end. Which is correct? I haven't been able to locate it in the assembly manual. anyone got a page #? thanks, Tcheairs

      mine has the sheild. i beleive the other style it for a 67. go to paragons site they have illustrations.

          Tom - Check out UPC 12, SHEET A6, BATTERY in the 66 AIM. Item 16 is SHIELD , p/n 3831632 (SPOTWELD 4 PLACES TO Item 3). Item 3 is the RETAINER. The SHIELD shows up in the drawing as dashed lines since it's behind the BATTERY ASSEMBLY. Pete
