    C2 427 Holley 3606

I have had some consistent issues with leakage out of the carburetor at the accelerator pump under the driver side of the carburetor after I drive it. I have pulled and replaced the pump membrane/gasket twice and have tried to rectify any warping issues that it appeared to have. I have heard that this is common, but the little puddle of fuel that develops on the manifold after the car sits is both dangerous and annoying.

Could anyone suggest further modifications or adjustmest to eliminate this problem?

    Thanks,
    Mark

if you have "sanded" the pump cover flat

and made sure the screws are not bottomed out in the bowl i would take a old pump diaphragm ,cut the center out and use the the remaining part as a extra gasket to see if that will seal the pump leak

Re: if you have "sanded" the pump cover flat

I have sanded it flat once before, but it leaked again soon after. I don't believe the screws are bottomed out, but I have hear that you don't want to get them too tight, right? Does bottoming them out casue the cover to warp from too much pressure?

Maybe the extra gasket is the solution to make up any other imperfections in the cover. I'll give it a try. Thanks, Clem.

I believe that if the screws bottom out, what's going to happen is that the cover will never get properly tightened and will, consequently, leak.
