    C2 1964 Warranty Booklet & Protection Plan

The JG calls for an Owners Protection Plan and Warranty Booklet.
The AIM lists a "Booklet - Owner's Ptotection Plan" and an "Envelope - Owner's Booklet" Footnotes describe the Envelope as being "Used as Owner Protection Booklet Container" See AIM page D221.

Nothing is said in the AIM of a Warranty Booklet or even a Warranty Booklet Envelope. Some past postings have mentioned that the 63 Protection and Warranty are one in the same! I'm assuming such is true, however the JG calls for both. Anyone know the answer to that?

Additionaly the AIM foot note specifies that the "Booklet - Owner's Ptotection Plan" is "Used When Specified For Export", however is silent about the Envelope.

At the last event I lost points for not having a Warranty Booklet, but did have the envelope. Have not found anyone who carries a Warranty Booklet - anyone know who has that????

And does anyone know who has the "Booklet - Owner's Ptotection Plan" and an "Envelope - Owner's Booklet" just in case these are different!

Another small item for the KO people, the JG calls for the KO Wheel Instruction Card, however that card has a date of 4-28-64 and an AIM addition date of 4-20-64 -SOOooo, if one has a 64 built before those dates the card would be impossible to have in the glove box. I found the judges had no problem with that even though I had the card.

    Thanks

The factory had no idea who'd be the original owner of the car nor when the car would be sold (warranty start date), so the warranty book and envelope were supplied at the dealership. That's why you don't see reference to them in the AIM. Check Long Island Corvette Supply for reproductions of both items (2-04S 1964 Warranty Book and 2-04W Warranty Book Envelope).

Alan - The following is what was in an original 64 Chevelle envelope and I'm betting items are basically the same as what was in the 64 Corvette envelope but somethings were Corvette specific:

      1. Envelope - P/N 3834959, dated 1-4-63 would have been in the Corvette
      2. 1964 Owners Guide Chevelle replace this with the 1964 Owners Guide Corvette
      3. Chevrolet 1064 Owner Protection Plan Chevrolet. Chevelle. Chevy II. Corvair. Corvette would have been in the Corvette

The above 3 items would definitely be in the 64 Corvette packet.

      4. Instructions for Care & Use of Seat Belts(Card) - P/N 3855739, dated 9-17-63 so this like the KO Wheel Card would depend on the car's production date if it's in the envelope.Don't know that this would have been in the Corvette envelope because I don't know if the 64 TIM&JG indicates a seat belt instruction card. Maybe someone else does but it's a neat card probably like the KO Whell Instruction Card.
      5. Custom Feature Accessories for your Chevrolet Chevelle Chevy II Corvair for more driving enjoyment 1964, P/N 3840637. Probably not in the Corvette envelope since Corvette accessories are listed but a nice fold out brochure but Dealers might have/probably added it.

          Alan -

The "Warranty Booklet" and the "Booklet - Owner's Protection Plan" are the same thing. Every midyear had one placed in the glove box at St. Louis, except some Canadian and Export units, which had unique warranty booklets specific to the country to which the car was exported, supplied by the importer.

Tom, contacted Jim and one is on its way. Also one on ebay NOW.
John, now the note in the AIM makes sense for the exports.
