Carter AFB 3721 SA or SB for early '65

    Hello,

For my '65 300 hp Corvette, manual, Serial # 48, Built 26th. August '64, what would be the correct suffix of the AFB carb? I want to buy a correct date coded one.
I've got 2 Carbs F4 and H4 to choose, but both have the 'SA' suffix. Currently I've got a 3720 H4 (for automatic) installed, also with the suffix 'SA'.
According to my '99 Black Book and the 53-67 Corvette Spec. Guide (bought around 1999) page 100 it should be 'SB'. Could there be a mistake in both of them? I've heard from another source that 'SA' would be ok and the switch to 'SB' was around Dec. 64. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Oliver

    Oliver:

Page 94 of the "1965 TechnicalInformation Manual and Judging Guide" states that the change over from the 3721SA to the 3721SB occured in November 1964. So your car should have a 3721SA.
